Scope of Works

President Avenue Pedestrian Bridge was delivered by Kenny Constructions and was a critical component of the M6 Stage 1 project. The scope included constructions of abutments, footings columns and a bespoke falsework system to support the pigtail bridge structure. It gets the name pigtail bridge because of the unique spiral geometry of the insitu concrete deck.

Overview

Due to the bridge’s location adjacent to a live traffic corridor, detailed staging and planning were essential. The works were delivered through multiple traffic shutdowns and weekend work periods to maintain free- flowing and uninterrupted traffic movements. Kenny Constructions in partnership with Arcow developed a tailored falsework solution to accommodate the bridge’s curved geometry.

Outcome

Kenny Constructions ensured the structural package of the M6 Pigtail was delivered meeting all quality and safety standards. Unique in nature, the bridge now stands as a talking point of Sydney's motorway infrastructure network.
