Scope of Works

The Kenny Constructions team were contracted to deliver the Station Structures package at Castle Hill, Sydney Metro Station. The package involved the construction of all concrete structural elements including installation of structural and architectural concrete façade pre-cast. The station spanned almost 250 meters long by 25 meters wide, with the platforms located 22 meters below street level. This complex project was delivered on-time; commencing in July 2017 and handed over in March 2019.

Overview

The Northwest Rail Link was a major contract awarded in 2013 for a heavy rapid rail transit link to the North-Western suburbs of Sydney. Under the $1.15 billion Tunnel and Station Civil Works contract, TJHDJV constructed twin 15-kilometre tunnels which now run between Bella Vista and Epping. These are the longest rail tunnels ever built in Australia. Customers started using the new Norwest Rail Link in May 2019.
